Progress

I’ve just realized I’ve been quiet on this blog and yet so much has happened. Amazing milestones have been reached, small in the eyes of most. But in a house with an autistic kid every success is huge.

So…3 weeks ago I managed to find a creche that accommodates but does not specialize in Special needs and for once I can see that my boy has found a place he belongs.

Kids and teachers alike are very understanding and for a lack of better word to describe, extremely tolerant.

They have an OT and Speech therapist that frequents the school to assist the few special needs kids that they do have. This at a nominal reduced fee of that which you would pay privately.

He is happy. He gets to interact with normal kids and is not treated as though he is different.

Milestones…he can count to 6 in a understandable language. And, this week he interacted very well with his peers by teaching them to fold and cut his all-time favorite paper snowflakes.

I am beaming with pride…
